- [Instructor] Windows 10 is big on protecting your privacy while online and while you use your computer. To witness these protections, open the Settings app, press the Windows + I keyboard shortcut, and choose Privacy. Each of these items on the left side of the window deal with some aspect of computer privacy. App permissions, hardware, and software. How you set these items is up to you. For example, on the General tab, you can choose which of these items to enable or disable. For example, if you don't like your advertising ID being used, turn that item off. Other items are set similarly. You may keep those active you want, disable those you don't want. The Location item might be important as it relates to other Windows features, such as night light and the Maps application. To activate the Location feature, click Change, and ensure that it's on.
