- [Instructor] The use of cloud computing is not without risk. Let's take a few minutes and talk about risk treatments and how they relate to cloud computing. And we'll also talk about shared responsibility when using cloud services. The first thing we have to think about is that cloud computing and risk are related because when you use cloud computing you are really outsourcing some portion of the underlying IT service infrastructure to a third party. That third party is the cloud service provider. And so from the perspective of a customer there is a loss of full control of all of the equipment and software that underlies whatever service is relevant for the organization, whatever the IT services are that they're using.
