- [Instructor] Windows comes with its own security suite, Windows Defender. I recommend that you ensure this feature is active to help protect your computer from viruses, spyware and all sorts of malware and nasty things that are part of the risk of modern computing. To run Windows Defender tap the Windows key to pop up the Start menu, and type Windows Defender. Once you see Windows Defender Security Center choose that item. The Windows Defender Security Center shows several categories, each of which relates to the computer's security, virus and threat protection, account protection, firewall, apps and browsers, device security and more. If any item requires attention it's flagged with a yellow warning icon as shown here on the App and browser control item.
