Set up a network

- [Instructor] Let's set up a router network in preparation for using the ASA. I'll need to create my Cisco router devices from the binary file. To do this, I open the Edit Preferences window. I can then select Dynamips, IOS routers, and click New. I'll navigate to my images folder and select the 3745 binary file, and I'll decompress the image. I'll select c3475 as the router type and accept its defaults. We'll skip the Idle-PC finder for the moment and finish. I'll select the multi-icon symbol and open up the devices pane. And we can now see that we have a c3745 router. I'll start by putting in a couple of 3745 routers and connect them together. I'll drag them onto the main panel and connect them using the link icon on the left. I'll connect using Ethernet0 on both routers. I'll add a note to show the first router has an IP address of 10.0.0.1, and the second has an IP address of 10.0.0.2. I'll add a virtual PC endpoint to both routers on their Ethernet1 interfaces.
