(upbeat music) - [Narrator] Here is my solution to our IP address aggregation challenge. Remember we were to provide the most precise summary IP address for the prefixes shown. Here I can clearly see that the variation in the bits is going to pick up in the third octet. So I quickly calculate the binary for each of those octets. Here you can see those calculations. When I look at this, I can see that the first four binary values for each of these prefixes is identical in that third octet. This means I can mask those off in the summary. So our appropriate summary is 10 dot 10 dot 67 dot zero slash 20. That is the first network we are summarizing, the 10 dot 10 dot 67 dot zero network, and the new shortened prefix of 20. Remember we arrive at 20 because we have eight bits in the first octet, eight bits in the second octet, all in common, and then the four common bits in the third octet, eight plus eight plus four is 20.…
