(upbeat music) - [Instructor] Okay, let's check our work. You were to go to this webpage to learn a little bit more about malware. So what is malware? Malware is malicious software that can harm computer systems, steal data or bypass security measures. Malware can also attack critical infrastructure such as water and electricity, disable emergency services, disrupt the manufacturing process and interrupt transportation services. Two common malicious programs are viruses and worms. Viruses can self-replicate yet need a way to propagate to other hosts. Worms are a self-propagating virus that can spread on its own. With a computer virus, the results can be as simple as a new icon on the desktop or more serious results such as disabling antivirus or destroying files.
