- [Instructor] The paradigm followed by most Windows users to start a new document or project is to first start the application. So you'd start Word and create a new document, but there's a quick way to start something new for a few popular types of files. So say I want to start a new Excel worksheet in a new project. So here in my work folder Window, I'm going to create a new project folder. And in the new project folder, say that I want to start a new Excel worksheet. Here's a quick shortcut. Home tab, new item. Microsoft Excel worksheet. The file is created and ready for renaming. And to begin my work, I could just open it or not because I can create more files in the same manner, which helps me launch into a new project without having to go through the ordeal of opening all these different programs and starting the different files.
