Telling the story of the data
- When you're presenting your findings to a nontechnical client or a nontechnical stakeholder, the most important thing that you have to do is be able to tell the story behind the data. You can't just give one number and say, here's what I found. You have to be able to answer the question that they care about which is why, why is this happening, why is this a problem, and how can we solve it? You have to be able to tell the story behind the data. I think the best part of my day is when I finished a task that I had on my to do list and I finished it and then I get to present it to someone and tell them what I found. Because a lot of times, if they're not working on the project, it's your project and then you present it to them, they're so surprised by your findings and they might ask questions that make you think more about what you've done or make you want to go back and look at something and do something else.
