- [Instructor] Cloud is a technical solution which can be deployed to support a business system. In that respect, it appears in the architecture matrix at the physical layer, together with the servers, networks, and other system elements. However, cloud is more than just a technology. It's a paradigm change in the way technology works in support of a process. Consequently, providing an on-premise Windows server to support a business process is not the same as providing a cloud-based elastic compute Windows server. We can represent this easily enough in our architecture by reflecting it in the attribute profile risk measurements for our on-premise and cloud deployments. So, for instance, our on-premise web server may be fine for its routine operational purpose, but when the business decides to run a high-impact sales campaign, it may not handle the surge in customer traffic.
