- Cloud incident reports are a good indicator of the kinds of threats that are realized for Cloud deployment. In the 2019, ISC squared Cloud security report, four types of incident made up the bulk of the breaches, data exposure, malware infection, account compromise and exploitation of vulnerabilities. The report indicates that over a quarter of businesses using Cloud had experienced an incident. ISC Squared may be underestimating. In a survey of 300 businesses carried out in 2020 by IDC, over three quarters indicated that they'd experienced a Cloud data breach within the previous 18 months. Whatever the actual percentage it's clear that Cloud threats are a significant issue. There's been a lot of data breaches as we can see in this Information is Beautiful graphic.
