Understanding VPN
- [Instructor] In many cases, people who used to work at an office, but who now work at home, will need to use VPN to access protected resources. VPN stands for virtual private network and VPN is a technology that lets a device connect securely to another device on a network that normally isn't accessible to the outside world. This is often used to provide remote workers with access to internal systems. Resources, like protected file sharing servers, accounting software, and things like that, which would normally be able to be used on the company network at the office, but aren't able to be accessed from the outside. There are a few different kinds of VPN and in this course, we're not going to get into the details of that.
