Working cross-functionally
- So in data science, we often need to work very cross-functionally with teams across the business. The reason for this is because if you just go off and analyze some data, you're going to come up with answers and the business is going to be like, "Well, okay, that does nothing for me." To really understand data, you also need to understand what is going on on the front end or what's going on with your other teams. This extra information can help guide what you're actually looking for in your analysis, and what I mean by that is we're not trying to come up with an answer that they're looking for, but we do need to know the intent. With the intent, we'll actually get you to the answer.
