- [Narrator] Here are the second nine of the 18 ITIL 4 practices. Note how deployment management has been separated in the ITIL 4 practice, where it was combined in the release and deployment management process in ITIL v3. Let's have a look at these remaining nine ITIL 4 practices. Practice number ten is ITIL 4 Service Configuration Management, which is roughly analogous to the ITIL v3 service asset and configuration management process. This is an important practice. The general idea, the outcome you're looking for is that when you make decisions, when you're planning, when you're talking about a risk or a change, that you have good enough, complete enough, detailed enough information about your configuration of your service and products so that you don't make mistakes. Like, for example, you're supposed to roll out this change, and it requires that the distribution servers look like this, but they actually look like that, or you just don't know.
