- [Instructor] Let's have a look at Kaizen, which is essential Lean improvement technique. Here's the definition of Kaizen. Continuous improvement of an entire value stream or an individual process to create more value and less waste. IT examples of areas where Kaizen is applied include metrics and value streams for development, delivery, support and maintenance, to name a few areas. There are two Kaizen levels. The top level system or flow focuses on the overall value stream. An IT example is value stream mapping and improving the deployment pipeline. Below that level is the process Kaizen. Improving how post-implementation reviews are conducted is the example of process Kaizen. Kaizen boards, often referred to as Kanban boards, are in common use in organizations today, including IT organizations. These include tools like Trello, LeanKit, Jira, and Microsoft Planner.
