- [Instructor] Traditional and lean cultures have very different reactions to defects or mistakes, and to approaches for how to deal with them. Lean organizations deal with errors and mistakes as a collaborative exercise in shared learning. Management makes sure everyone is open to seeing, accepting, and solving errors and mistakes to continually improve. It's an ongoing pursuit of perfection. Let's look at this definition of continuous improvement. It's central to DevOps, which is about continuous everything, continuous delivery, testing, and integration, and so on. It includes improving development and deployment practices and systems. Let's look at quality circles, a core lean improvement technique. Here's the definition of a quality circle. Ideally, the quality circles work as integrated into an overall total quality control system, and they meet regularly, for example, two to three times a month for 30 to 60 minutes.
