Maturity assessments
- The fifth assessment model we have is known as a maturity assessment. Maturity assessments evaluate the capability of something, usually a process or an organization, and compare that with a maturity framework model or scale. Reference models can be used for assessments. They are typically going to include multiple levels. Each one of those is going to describe some kind of characteristic of a specific practice or the entire organization. Now maturity assessments results can come as a maturity rating, alongside with a detailed description of the supporting evidence. So we might say, you are a category three mature organization, and here is why on a one to five scale, for instance. The organization must decide whether or not the assessed maturity is acceptable, and if it's not, then you should do some improvements to become more mature.
