- Organizational improvement cascade. Now, an organizational improvement cascade is used to help us measure performance at multiple levels within our organization. So far, we've been looking at the organization holistically, but now it's time to dive down into each level. Typically, we're going to break our organization down into different business units or functions, maybe different departments, and then we're going to break those down into teams, and then those into individual employees. Most organizations have metrics at most or all of these different levels. Now, each of these metrics needs to be in alignment with the level above them as well. By nesting these metrics in this manner, we can get better results and more value for our organization.
