- [Instructor] ITIL 4's publication date is Q1 2019. ITIL v3, the last major version of ITIL, was published in 2007. There was an interim revision for clarity in 2011, which is called the 2011 Edition. ITIL 4 Foundation differs in a number of important ways from ITIL v3 or 2011 Edition. Let's have a look at what's different. The first key difference is that the source publication for ITIL 4 Foundation is just one 200-page Foundation book, where the ITIL v3 or 2011 Edition Foundation course and exam draws on content from nearly 2,000 pages, spread across five books. It should be clear that with ITIL 4, Axelos is going for a lighter weight approach, better matched to today's more agile organizations. The second key difference is the length of the course. The ITIL 4 Foundation course is two days versus three days in duration.
