Perfection terminology and techniques

- Lean includes terminology and techniques to drive us towards perfection. These are Hoshin Kanri, Kaizen and Kaikaku. Let's understand what these three Japanese terms mean. Hoshin Kanri is a process of aligning strategy, top to bottom and bottom to top in the organization. Kaizen is use for continuous incremental improvement. Kaikaku is use for revolutionary change. Let's take a look of each one of these, including what they look like in I.T. Hoshin Kanri aligns in organization activity with strategic objectives to a specific plan develop with a precise goals, actions, timelines, responsibilities, and measures. There are seven steps to Hoshin Kanri process in order to align strategy and action in the organization from top to bottom, and bottom to top. Let me give you an I.T.example. Extending the devops alignment of development and I.T. operations around the same goals to align up and down across the I.T. organization around the same goals. That's an example of Hoshin Kanri.
