- [Instructor] Here's the ITIL's Seven Guiding Principles juxtaposed against the Nine Guiding Principles of ITIL V3 Practitioner. If you've taken the ITIL Practitioner course or read the book, you'll see that the ITIL 4 Guiding Principles have been adapted from the Nine Principles included with the Practitioner materials. But as shown here, they were reduced from nine to seven, with Collaborate and Be transparent combined into Collaborate and promote visibility, and Design for experience replaced, and Observe directly removed. Really, these were folded in elsewhere, and Optimize and automate added. Let's drill down into these principles. The first principle is very simple. There needs to be a relentless Focus on Value in the organization by every individual and team.
