- In the last lesson, I mentioned that we need to start with why in order for us to help define what our organization's vision and mission are going to be? So I guess that really begs the question, what exactly is vision and mission? And as we dive into those two concepts, we're also going to need to define the different levels of organizational planning that can occur, which in turn, can also be measured. First, we have vision and mission. Your organizational vision and mission statements can really help provide a lot of direction throughout the organization. When we talk about vision, vision is a defined aspiration of what an organization would like to become in the future.
