- [Dave] Welcome to ITIL 4 Foundation, a First Look. I'm Dave Pultorak and I've contributed to ITIL version 2, and I've been teaching people ITIL and helping them apply it for 20 years now. I've learned a lot in that time about how to adapt practices for changing times and technologies. That's why I'm excited to share this overview of what's in store for ITIL 4. If you create, deliver, support, or improve products and services, this course is for you. ITIL is the leading source of IT source management guidance and certification with over two million IT professionals certified because it highlights the outcomes critical to providing products and services and provides best practices for achieving and maintaining those outcomes. A lot has changed in the 10 years since ITIL's last major revision, V3. The typical environment we manage is now a hybrid of traditional IT and cloud and mobile with a steady march towards the latter. And new practices have emerged that are a better fit for these technologies, including DevOps, Lean, and Agile practices. In response to these changes, there's a new version of ITIL, ITIL 4. So what's in store for ITIL 4? What's in it and how does the content and exam and certification scheme differ from what came before? This course provides a first look, so let's get started.
