Adjusting the width properties of a stroke
- [Instructor] With a stroke applied to a path you can use the width tool to vary the width of the stroke at a particular point on the path. In the tools panel select the width tool. Click on the path where you would like to vary the width of the stroke, and drag perpendicular to the path to apply a width point at that location. Anywhere that you click on a path, it's going to widen the path at that location, and taper in the other areas. You can click to drag to widen the path, and then you can click at another area to change the width at that location. To remove a width point click on the width point and press the Delete or Backspace key on your keyboard. Anytime you click and drag, you're adding a width point. To vary the width point on only one side of a path, hold down the Alt or Option key as you drag to only adjust the width on one side of the path.
