Applying variable-width strokes
- [Instructor] Alright now, the thing you may have noticed about all of the strokes we've applied so far, is that they're entirely uniform. In other words, their thickness does not vary over the course of a path outline. But that doesn't have to be the case. You can create what are known as variable with strokes in order to achieve calligraphic effects using the width tool. The one thing to know about this tool is that it is not applicable to text. Alright, so as you can see, my black arrow selection tool is active up here at the top of the toolbox. And so, I'm going to start things off by selecting this horizontal line. Now, I wonna turn it into a kind of shadow. And so I'll go ahead and select the width tool, and then I can drag from any location along the path outline. So, let's say I decide to drag right about here, then notice as I drag, I'm increasing the width of the stroke at that point. Now, I can move that…
