- [Instructor] To apply a color to any shape, simply press the V key to access the Selection Tool. Select the first shape that you would like to style. Remember to use the Group Selection Tool to select shapes that belong to groups like we learned in chapter two, video three. When you selected a shape, you can either go to the Properties panel and from there use the Fill and Stroke options under Appearance to assign a color to your shape. To do so, click on the respective icons and then select an existing color from the swatches or select the Color Mixer tab to create a new color. You can also apply color to Stroke and Fill by using the Fill and Stroke icons located at the bottom of the toolbar. Double click on one of the two icons to access the color picker.
