- [Instructor] Clipping masks allow you to clip content to a shape. And there are a number of different reasons why you might do this and you'll see them used at various different points throughout the course. What we're going to do here is a very simple exercise to give you just one possible use of such a thing. So what I'd like you to do is just select the car body, just here, if I just delete it, I'll show you what's left over, but don't you delete it, just keep it where it is, I'll restore it there. What I'm going to ask you to do is move this by a predictable amount. We're going to take it off the art board. So let's zoom out just a little bit. Lets just do command+(-) or control+(-) on our keyboard a couple of times to zoom out. We got the section tool active so we're going to use it's ability to transform numerically.
