Converting type to outlines

- [Instructor] All right, now I'll show you how to convert editable text into path outlines. And there's a few reasons you might want to do this. First, you may be handing a document off to someone who doesn't have the font that you're using and you don't want them to get a missing font warning or worse still, substitute for a different font. Second, you may want to protect the text so nobody can edit it. And then finally you may want to customize the letter forms which is what I'll be doing in this movie. And so I'll go ahead and select this text right here. And as you can see over here in the Properties panel, this text is set to myriad variable concept, and the heaviest weight there is, black. All right, now at this point I can edit the text using the type tool but instead what I want to do is edit the text as path outlines. And so I'll go up to the type menu and choose this command right here, create outlines,…
