- [Instructor] Now I'll show you how to create custom path outlines lickety-split using a combination of the white arrow tool along with four commands in this order: copy, paste, join, and offset. And that'll allow us to give our laptop some more definition by creating this screen along with this keyboard. All right, now notice that my white arrow tool is still active. If you want to select an entire path outline, all you have to do is click inside of it instead of on one of its points. Now what I need to do in order to create that inset screen is create a shape that goes all the way around the screen element. The problem is that that shape doesn't really exist. But we can create it just by clicking on this anchor point right there and then shift clicking on this one. That's all you need. And so here's the idea.
