Create a 3D shadow effect with Minus Front
- [Instructor] Continuing with the exploration of the Combine Shape features here, I'd like to create a shadow effect using minus front. So I have my numerals that are in Clarendon, U R W bold, and I will need to outline the text and then confirm that by tapping Done. And I'm now going to duplicate that, but before I do so, I need to convert this object to a compound path. And when I do so, the compound path loses its fill. So let's just come and reinstate that. Now I'll duplicate it and drag the copy off-centered. It might be helpful to turn on the outline view in order to do this. I'll then come back to Preview. My black rectangle at the back is locked so I can swipe over those two pieces of type without selecting the rectangle. Then come to Combine Shapes and I'll choose minus front.
