Create stipple effects with symbols
- [Instructor] Let's take a look at how to apply a stipple effect using symbols instead of dot shapes. So here in our exercise file, we have a big star and a little star and what I'd like to do is use the little star as a shape to add a stippling effect to the big star. To do that first we need to add this small star as a symbol by selecting it, going to the Symbols panel and clicking New Symbol. We'll just name it Star, for export type, we'll choose Graphic. We'll leave it as a Dynamic Symbol, and click OK. Then to apply the symbol stipple effect to the big star let's select it, and choose effect Stipplism, Symbol Stipple. Notice that this dialog box has some different options from the regular simple dialog box. We'll start by clicking Preview to see the effects of each setting.
