Creating with custom scripts

( whooshing) - [Instructor] Welcome to Drawing Vector Graphics Laboratory, Adobe Illustrator allows the user to customize their workflow. They do this in several ways. There's third party developers like Astute Graphics that makes plugins you can use rather than the native tools inside Illustrator. But illustrator itself also allows you to make other customization such as keyboard shortcuts, which I've showcased in previous DVG lab movies. And I continue to use those every day because it makes the process of creating more efficient and easier, and that's always a good thing. Another thing that Adobe Illustrator allows the user to do is to use what are called custom scripts. These are Java scripts, and you can plug them into Illustrator and they'll do things that otherwise aren't easy to do, or are labor intensive to do. And I want to showcase eight of those in this movie. Now where do you place these scripts? Well…
