Creating depth of field

Creating depth of field

- [Instructor] Welcome to Drawing Vector Graphics Laboratory. In this movie, we're gonna take a look at using depth of field to change the viewer's focus within the context of a visual narrative. This focus is simple and the functionality has been around for a long time, but I don't see it being used that often. So let's take a look at the whole process now. Now, this composition, to kind of demonstrate depth of field, I wanted a scene of sorts, and so I drew this out. Now with all of my illustration, I tried to figure out what I'm gonna build before I build it. Meaning I draw it out, in this case, I'm gonna set this layer to 20%, lock it, and then it's gonna work as a road map to build my vector artwork on. I don't have to think about it. I'm just building shapes that align with my underlying drawing. So when it's said and done, I end up with my color vector artwork like this. And I think this is gonna work well. Now what exactly is going on in this scene? I'll leave that up to you…
