Creating a gradient
- [Instructor] A gradient allows you to create a transition between two or more colors, and apply it to the stroke or fill of an object. Using the selection tool click on an object to which you'd like to apply a gradient. Open the gradient panel by choosing window, gradient. Notice that I have the fill of the object targeted, and you can choose the type of gradient by choosing one of these three icons between linear, radial and freeform. Click on radial to apply a default radial gradient. Underneath the color ramp you have color stops. If you double-click on a color stop you can choose which color to apply to that stop. You can use the color button, the picker or the swatches. I'm going to click on the yellow swatch to apply it to that stop. I'm going to double-click on the other color stop and apply red. You can always click underneath the color ramp to add other additional color stops. To remove those stops simply click on it and drag straight down. Click on another object and choose the radial gradient option to apply the previously used gradient to this object as well.
