Creating isometric objects: Part 1

- When I first learned how to create an isometric object, I said to myself, "That's it? That was easy." I had expected a more complex process for creating this type of art, but was pleasantly surprised to find out that it really isn't that hard at all to create an isometric object. So, let me walk you through the process of taking your 2D artwork and transforming it into isometric projection. When it comes to isometric projection, it'll help you if you just think like a cube. Everything you create is going to use the same principal that I'm about to show you, regardless of what specific shape it is. In this case, the easiest of all shapes to create are cubes or rectangles, but whatever shape you create, it's going to deal with three planes: a top, a left and a right side, when it comes to isometric projection. So, how do you compose whatever 2D shape you create and project it out into isometric projection? Well, it just comes down to a simple three step process. So if we take our left…
