(jet engine roar) (gears rumbling) - [Instructor] Welcome to Drawing Vector Graphics Laboratory the beauty of illustration is its flexibility it can be used for a broad range of projects and easily adapted to fit a specific genre, aesthetic or medium. In this movie I want to walk you through one specific illustration I created and how I adapted it to work with photography to create a fun visual narrative for a book pitch. So let's get started, it all starts in Illustrator, it all starts with drawing actually and that's outside of Illustrator. This is just some really crude simple, these are tiny like maybe a half inch by a half inch each. Just little scribbles of monster ideas just to capture the essence of an idea. We're going to focus on the one in the bottom left-hand corner and that's where I flesh out fully in what I call a refined sketch, all a refined sketch means is I try to figure out my form and shape of my composition in this case a monster and this monster I don't want to…
