(gears grinding) - [Instructor] Welcome to Drawing Vector Graphics Laboratory. One feature in Illustrator I use nearly every day is Offset Path. It's a feature not found in other popular competitors to Adobe Illustrator, but the functionality is very useful for building precisely. In this movie I want to walk you through a design I created and how I used offset paths to create part of the overall design. We'll also discuss alternate ways to offset and a few limitations to the functionality that I think you need to be aware of as well. So let's get started. As with everything I create, it starts in analog. This was a sketch I did several months back, no other reason than I was just kind of messing around. And I like to sketch sometimes with my mechanical pencil, this actual exact mechanical pencil is something I've been using for 16 years. I'm very attached to it.
