- [Instructor] Welcome to drawing vector graphics laboratory. Design and illustration is more than creating visuals. Be it illustrative or through graphic layout. The creative process is successfully fueled by insightful ideas. In other words, as Saul Bass so wisely stated, design is thinking made visual. One key to successful logo designs, iconography, and other forms of visual communication, is shape association. The ability to look at any form and see it as something else. We've all done this before. As kids we would lay back on the grass, look up in the sky, see a cloud and associate that cloud shape with something else. And in this movie I'm going to challenge you to do the same thing. By looking at a simple shape and exploring what else it could possibly inspire. This is better demonstrated than explained, so let's get started. We've taken the simplest of all shapes, the elliptical shape and we're going to clone this. Command + C, Command + F.
