Creating with spot textures

(mechanical whirring) - Welcome to Drawing Vector Graphics Laboratory. In the previous DVG Lab episode I showed you why I use Bitmap TIFFs rather than Image Trace textures. Now, ironically, in this movie I'm going to show you how to use Image Trace textures and a quick and dirty way to compose texturing detail to create really authentic looking results. This methodology is a bit unorthodox but I think you'll see the value in it. This is best showing then explain, so let's jump right into it. Here is a nice texture that I created years ago using an ink roller and you can see the edges are really cool and we're actually going to be kind of jumping into that full throttle in a future DVG Lab. But I want to use this as an example of what I mean by Spot Texturing.
