Creating a surface texture

Drawing Vector Graphics Laboratory. In this movie, I'm going to show you how you can create your own texture, by hand crafting it using simple methods and supplies. Now, in previous movies I've showed you how to take a photograph of a surface texture in the real world and create a texture resource. Or, if you have an old Xerox machine or old copy machine, open up the lid, Xerox the sky, that even works better in my opinion because the new printers are so good it's a little harder to get the pigment off the paper as it was with the old copy machines. It's still possible, you're going to see how I do that, and it's by using these tools. So, you'll want to have a straight edge. It can be a metal ruler like this, anything that allows you to have a straight edge you can scrape along the edge of the paper. And I'm going to show you that in a second.
