I was recently asked to speak to an AIGA student group in Arizona, and they asked me if I'd show them how to create a repeat pattern design in Illustrator. That was the assignment they were faced with and they wanted to get a jumpstart by asking me how I would approach that. So I'm going to share with you what I shared with them because it's good general information to review and it's a fundamental when it comes to pattern building.
