(logo whooshes) - [Instructor] Welcome to "Drawing Vector Graphics Laboratory." If you been watching DVG lab content for a while, you know how much I enjoy using textures within my vector artwork. A viewer recently asked me why I use bitmap textures instead of image tracing them. So in this movie, we're going to focus on the craftsmanship side of creating and using textures. And I'll answer this question and share other insights into how vector-based textures affect a document. So I just want to explain to you really quickly how I create some textures. A lot of textures are based off of photos I take of a degraded wall, concrete wall, let's say. Or a painted surface. But sometimes I create 'em myself. Now once a toothbrush gets all frayed and old, I don't throw 'em away. I kind of save 'em. I have a drawer in a small flat file of mine where I have about three of them that are old toothbrushes.
