Detailing isometric illustrations: Part 1
- How detailed you make an isometric illustration will be based on its final usage. If it's a small spot illustration in a publication or an infographic used in a brochure, for example, then you wanna keep your shapes and details simplified. If it's a larger context, like signage in a museum display, or a two page spread in a newspaper, for example, then you can make your detailing more complex. Whether simplifed or complex, details such as shadows and highlights will be governed by the light source you decide upon for your isometric illustration. So, let me show you how I decide when to add detail and how I use blend modes to achieve certain effects in my isometric illustrations. In a previous movie where I covered how I draw out my compositions for isometric illustration, I showed you how you don't have to be super exact.
