Duplicate objects
- [Instructor] When creating artwork, you're constantly presented with the need to duplicate objects. Let me show you some quick ways of doing this easily in Illustrator. Now what I'm gonna do is zoom in on this woman's left shoe here, since that's where we're gonna be working, and one of the things that people often do just out of habit when they want to make a copy of an object is they'll select the object, so I'm gonna select the shoelace right here, and they'll simply do a copy/paste, so I'll just do this manually for now. just choose copy, and then choose, edit, paste, and the problem with this method is that Illustrator just kinda puts the copy in an arbitrary location. I'm sure there's an algorithm that determines where it goes, but it's very rarely anywhere close to where I need it to go. So I'm gonna go ahead and delete that object, and so at the very least, some more powerful ways of doing this is to select this object and copy it, so I'll just go to edit, copy, and then if…
