Engraved designs
- [Instructor] We've talked a little about what engraving is, but to review, laser engraving only partially penetrates through the material. By burning away only thin layers, engraving can be done on a wider variety of materials than through cutting. Engraving is especially suited for decorative designs and signage because it won't peel off, fade, or smudge. There are two main styles of engraving, sometimes used in the same file. Raster engraving of data like text and shapes with sharp edges uses vector data to engrave large areas to the same level of depth.
