Filling, scaling, and rotating

- [Instructor] In this chapter we're going to talk about working with pattern swatches. And I want to go over how to manipulate them rotate, scale, that sort of thing. So first of all, when you are filling something with a swatch, you don't want to select the whole thing and then just click on the swatch. Because strange things happen. We've got fills inside stitches and other details which means we loose a whole lot of the detail. So I'm going to undo that. What we want to do is select with the group selection tool and select the pieces that we want to fill. Now since I keep going back and forth to the group selection tool, why don't we give it a keyboard shortcut since it doesn't currently have one. And we did this in an earlier movie. So lets go to edit, keyboard shortcuts. We're going to go to tools and find the group selection tool. Click to turn on the shortcut. And the shortcut I like to use for this is Q.
