- [Instructor] All right, now I'll show you the proper way to fill and stroke display type here inside Illustrator, and I mention display type because it's not very likely you're going to stroke regular old small type, better known as body copy. All right, I'll go ahead and click on this point text in order to select it, and you can tell it's point text because we have this little anchor point right there at the center of the baseline. And now let's say I want to assign a stroke, I'll go ahead and click on the stroke swatch here in the properties panel, and I'll change it to Caribbean, which now has the right name, and then I'll crank the line weight value up to eight points, let's say, and notice things look absolutely terrible with the stroke in front of the fill, which absolutely ruins the legibility of the type. What we want is this effect right here, and to make that happen you have to assign the fill and stroke…
