Font height variation
- [Instructor] Resizing texts by a specific measurement has always been somewhat bewildering because what text uses is an invisible element called the M-box and they vary in size depending on the actual font. Now, this border around the text kind of approximates the M-box, but not completely. The gray background behind it, this rectangle just here is 22 millimeters high. Now, that I'm using millimeters is not really the point. It's just that there's a common unit of reference, you don't need to understand millimeters. Okay, not if you don't want to. So if I get the text here, and if I go to my character options. And instead of 46 points, I change this to 22 mm, for millimeters and hit return, you can see it has indeed got larger. But is the text itself 22 millimeters? No, it isn't. The invisible M-box that goes around the text, which will be more or less that size. Sometimes it is much, much deeper, however, it's not…
