Forming logo idea 2: Lost Highway
My second idea I'm referring to as Lost Highway. It's suggested by a photograph sent to me by my client, a photograph by French photographer Jeanloup Sieff. And he has a Wikipedia page if you'd like to know more about him. I start by placing the photograph in Illustrator, and hand tracing over it, and simplifying it as much as I can. And that gives me the result I see. For version number one. And frankly, it's still too complicated. Unless you'd seen the original photograph, you probably wouldn't have any idea what this is. So I try and simplify it somewhat, and that gives me version number two. But the problem remains. So I think, well, let's try and remove the foreground of the windshield and the steering wheel, and have the suggestion of a mountain range. A lonely highway and sky. And that gives me version number three. And then I experiment with version number three, in various different forms, different typefaces, sharing the type so that its angle replicates the angle of the…
