Groups vs. compound paths

- [Instructor] In this movie, I'll demonstrate the difference between groups and compound paths. And I'll show you when to use which. All, right now right up front, I want you to make sure that your black arrow selection tool is active up here at the top of the toolbox and that your bounding box is turned on. And so if you've been working right along with me in the previous movies, then you'll need to go to the view menu and choose show bounding box. If this command reads hide bounding box, then leave it alone. All right. So I'll go ahead and choose that guy. Now, even if you're new to Illustrator, you're probably familiar with the idea of grouping, which allows you to combine path outlines so that you can easily move them together. And so for example, let's say I click on any one of these surfboards and then I drag it to a different location. You can see that I'm moving all of the path outlines together,…
