Importing a sketch as a template

- [Instructor] Once you've sketched out your idea on paper and you've taken a picture of it and put it on your computer, it's time to input that into Adobe Illustrator as a proper sketch template. Now, how's it work? You click the File menu and then you choose Place, and from there you go and try and find the image that you want to use as an actual template, which in this case for me is just a quick sketch of a briefcase. Now, what you can do is just make sure that the Link option is deselected, because we do want to embed this image into the document, and then just choose Place. I'll just quickly zoom out a little bit. I'll click and drag to place the image. Again, you get to choose how big or how small it is, and now looking at the Layers panel here, what you can do is just double-click that layer, name it, for example, Briefcase, and then click the Template option.
